Jack was awarded the Eagle Scout rank on November 16, 1967.  In 1986, when his sons became involved in scouting, Jack became an adult leader.  Both sons are Eagle Scouts.  Jack was named to the Occoneechee Council's Executive Board in 1994.  He served two years as President and two years as Council Commissioner.  He remains an active member of the Board to this day and still loves to camp and hike.
